Class of 2023 - Welcome to LCHS!

We are pleased to welcome the Class of 2023 next month for Freshman
Orientation on Thursday, August 8th starting at 10 am.  Freshmen will have a meeting in the auditorium with some guest speakers discussing some of the great opportunities we feature for our Railers!  Students will then be
allowed to walk through their schedules and find their lockers.

Online registration will begin July 22nd. All freshmen have been
assigned a Skyward access code (all usernames are their first and last
names – first.last, example – lincoln.railers  - all passwords are set
to railers). Returning parents should still be able to log in with
previous login information. Parents new to the district should use the
same log in as their freshmen students (first.last as the username and
railers as the password). Once you log in for the first time, it will
prompt you to create a new password. Parent accounts must be used for
online registration.

Popups need to be enabled to use Skyward correctly. The Skyward link
is found on the LCHS webpage – www.lchsrailers.org or by selecting the
following link: Skyward

If you encounter any issues with logging into the system, please
contact the Assistant Principal, David Helm: dhelm@lchsrailers.org or

Math Letter to Parents:

Dear Parent,

Next year, students in Algebra 2, College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus and Statistics will need to purchase their own graphing calculator.

We will have a limited supply of calculators for use in the classroom, so we are recommending each student purchase their own calculator for home use and for use on critical tests.

Having their own calculator encourages self-paced individual exploration, and allows for consistency between work done at school and home.  Current models of Texas instruments graphing calculators are all upgrade-able, so your student can use it from high school through college.  Also, having their own graphing calculators will allow students to become more proficient with the graphing calculators, which are permitted or even required on:

. > ACT and SAT College Entrance Exams

> AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, AP Physics and AP Statistics exams

> Our state’s math exam, the SAT given in April to all juniors

Here is some information to help you in deciding which graphing calculator is right for your student:
